Abigail Hamlyn

My name is Abigail and I am originally from East London and then my parents moved my family to Essex when I was 11, where I lived until I was 21. When I was 20 I had this travel bug lit up inside of me and decided to travel around Thailand and Cambodia. As I loved this experience so much I decided to go back travelling when I was 21 and headed off to Myanmar, Cambodia and Thailand and then off to Australia. I fell in love with the place so much I ended up living ther3 for 5 years, in this time I did travel around and experience different cities and jobs. I also completed my 88 days of farm work which I loved! I returned home in January 2022 where I thought it was the perfect time to start my career in recruitment as I have a background in sales.

I started out at a company where I recruited within the Audio Visual Sector which was a niche market to say the least but this is where I learnt all of my recruitment skills and decided I wanted to carry on doing this as I love talking to different walks of life and helping people find their dream job in the Venues and Events sector.

What did you want to be when you were younger?

When I was younger I had big ambitions and wanted to be an actress or work within the fashion industry as a magazine editor.

What do you do when you're not at work?

When I’m not at work I love to unwind by going to Yoga or you can find me on the dancefloor or trying out different festivals. I also do love to go out for dinner/lunch and try different pop ups and restaurants around London.
