Hywel Mathias is Chief Commercial Officer at Merlin Entertainments, where he leads a diverse range of teams that set and execute the commercial excellence across Merlin's attractions. He is responsible for Revenue Management, Digital Trading, Indirect Sales, Retail and Food. He loves nothing better than solving complex problems, working with his team to drive growth, and helping teams unleash their potential. Prior to his current role, Hywel has worked in a variety of roles at Merlin, including Business Development Director Midway, Divisional Director London, as well as multiple General Management, Brand and Commercial roles in the UK, Asia and Australia. Hywel is also a Trustee at Bletchley Park, and at the SEA LIFE Trust Cornish Seal Sanctuary in Gweek. Pre his time at Merlin, he operated a number of branded retail and food offerings including, M&S Simply Food, Burger King and Starbucks. He additionally spent time as part of the team that develops the retail offering at the major stations in the UK.
