This year, Pride month is more important than ever, building and strengthening communities in these strange times is a hard thing to do!

CORE LGBT has been working hard to keep people connected through the webinar with some great speakers (and quizzes!) – we thought everyone could use some motivation / inspiration at this time, so we have secured a very special speaker for our next webinar on the 18^th of June at 4pm.

Mark Foster, a five-time Olympian, World, European and Commonwealth Champion and holder of eight world records in a career spanning 23 years, is one of Britain’s greatest ever swimmers. In 2008, Mark was chosen as the flag bearer for the 2008 Beijing Olympics opening ceremony which he cites as one of his proudest moments. Since retiring, Mark has cemented himself as a regular commentator on our screens around major international swimming events, a brand ambassador, an inspiring keynote speaker in both in the corporate world and to aspiring youngsters through his swimming academy. In 2017 Mark spoke publicly about his sexuality revealing to the wider world he is gay.

In May 2009, Foster became patron of The Anaphylaxis Campaign, the UK charity for people with severe allergies. Mark is also an ambassador for WellChild, as well as the UK charity SportsAid, which supported him in the early days of his career, helping talented young sports people to achieve their ambitions and dreams.
