PRIDE MONTH - 25 June 2020 – Keegan Hirst

Year after year, "Pride Month" gets more important than ever, building and strengthening communities in order to give them a louder voice to tackle all the ongoing issues LGBTQ+ people are facing.

CORE LGBT has been working hard to keep people connected through exceptional webinars with some great interviews, webinars, quizzes…

We thought everyone could use some motivation and be able to re-watch the interview we had with the amazing and inspiring Keegan Hirst

Keegan Hirst has played over 300 professional rugby league games, debuting at the age of 17. He has played in every professional league including several years at Super League level and has also played in numerous playoff campaigns and Grand Finals.

In 2015, at the age of 27, Keegan became the first British rugby league player to come out as gay. He has since gone on to be a champion for diversity and inclusion, both on and the off the rugby field.

Keegan has worked with numerous charities including Stonewall, SSAFA and RL Cares. He has delivered workshops and been involved with several mentoring programmes to help younger people, not only realise their potential but also help providing them with the tools to fulfil it.
