We were contacted in conjunction with an international recruitment drive in order to provide our expertise in the hunt for top quality Chefs – Main kitchen (Commis, DCDP, CDP, SCDP, Sous, Snr Sous, CDC, Exec Chef)
Candidates needed to be fluent in English; with experience in 4* or 5* hotels and with banqueting experience dealing with minimum 1500 pax++. Opened to individual candidatures from anywhere in the world.
As the industry is highly competitive, the client wanted to ensure their high standards would be maintained and/or improved by sourcing new and highly skilled professionals with specific expertise across the various kitchen divisions to ensure only the best food quality.
A dedicated Account Manager based in our Cape Town office organised a Recruitment Open Day in Cape Town where one of the Client ship was mooring. For this day, COREcruitment sought candidates from the South African & African markets. Carefully screened candidates were inviting to come on board and prove their skills.
We also compiled a list of candidates from COREcruitment’s own network as well as individuals that had been referred to us. In addition, we used targeted advertising campaigns and utilised marketing techniques in order to draw in only the most highly-skilled and relevant of candidates.
We then ensured that each person put forward for a role not only had an outstanding and stable career history, but also impeccable industry knowledge and skills that would be transferrable.
As a “next search step” our teams in London, Bangkok, Amsterdam and Vancouver had also been sourcing and selecting international chefs for the business interested in International opportunities. We have had particlular success in sourcing from resort groups from the Caribbean and Asian regions.
After a detailed pre-screening and 1st stage telephone interviews, the client held a successful open day on board one of the vessels, giving the opportunity for candidates to show to the client their full skill sets and personality fits. COREcruitment dedicated Account Manager organised all the interview prep. and arranged the temporary boarding passes.
COREcruitment’s rigorous pre-selection process resulted in 80% of those put through to a technical assessment offered a role.
The process took 1.5 weeks. COREcruitment even facilitated the on-boarding process which resulted in faster ship placements.
In this partnership, COREcruitment had a detailed understanding of the client’s requirement that has resulted in the successful placement of over 80 chefs across the fleet so far.
