  2. How did you get into the sector? Studied Hotel, Catering & Institutional Management Diploma for 4 years at catering college.
  3. Career high? Acquiring and investing in new businesses to grow the portfolio of restaurant brands.
  4. Career low? Leading restructuring and redundancies to realign business and reduce costs.
  5. What are your plans for the next year? I will be doing some Executive and Group coaching work for an international business and supporting the Local Enterprise Partnership in Staffordshire.
  6. What advice would you give to people keen to progress in the industry? Gain experience in all areas of the business and grow leadership skills.
  7. What question do you always ask in interviews? I always ask about the persons biggest achievement and how they overcame adversity.
  8. If you woke up and had 2,000 unread emails and could only answer 300 of them how would you choose which ones to answer? Sort by conversation, ignore the sales and focus on emails from people in the business (sorry about that!)

  10. How do you motivate others? Understand what's important to them, build trust and help them grow.
  11. What three things do you need to be successful in this job? What are deal killers for you? Work in a business I can relate to, understand what is needed from me and be honest when others are better suited for the task.
  12. How do you define success and how do you measure up to your own definition? Success for me is to enjoy the work and the people I'm working with. For the CEO's, its ensuring the tasks I'm hired to do get completed and/or the plans are developed.
  13. Who has inspired you in your life and why? I was fortunate enough to have a boss in my early career who encouraged me and gave me the confidence to progress and achieve my goals.

  15. What’s the worst thing about your current job and what’s the best? Being too busy is both the best and the worst!
  16. What are you looking for in a candidate? Drive, enthusiasm and team player.
