CASE STUDY: Pubs & bars recruitment

The Client

We have been working with a large hospitality company with over 200 sites across the UK since November. This company has a variety of sites from ranging from wet-led late-night venues, all the way to cosy and family friendly food sites.

Every site has a different identity and so they would need a different kind of GM to get it in the right direction.

Why did they need help?

Our clients planned to open 12 sites and from the initial contact, they set an 8-month timeline to get all their sites open.

They approached us to support them and take the lead in finding candidates; our role became that of finding the right General Managers who would be able to build their teams and get open.

What did we do?

  • Reviewed compensation packages: we addressed that their proposed salaries where below market value, however, their bonus scheme and benefits were amazing. Our mission was for candidates to realise and understand the remuneration better.
  • We worked on different advert types, where and how these jobs should be advertised and the narrative on pitching the company to candidates.
  • Sourcing candidates through verified job boards
  • Getting in touch with our exceptional network of hospitality specialists and contacts to showcase our search for talented and experienced people in London.
  • Most Importantly, we worked as an extension of our client, understanding their culture and company mission, to be able to source the best talent.

Results

From the first day of working on the project, all the candidates we presented and represented have been offered a position, mainly thanks to our understanding of the company’s needs but also due to the incredible experience of our field-experienced candidates.

To date, twelve very happy General Managers have joined our client’s company.

We are now dealing with many of their managerial front-of-house recruitment needs.
