Recently I saw a fantastic interview (you can watch here) that said that great companies are defined by crisis. Companies that are able to diversify, pivot and thrive, rather than survive, are the ones that will come out of this crisis intact and in growth.
Brigad has been a client of CORE’s since 2019. Their innovative approach to providing flexible staffing solutions within hospitality and their expertise within the industry, sets them above the competition. Clearly, hospitality during lockdown, and to an extent still, has been hit particularly hard. Brigad have been forward thinking and brave enough to step into providing short term staffing solutions to healthcare. A fantastic example of adapting and responding to the situation.
Another client of ours that has pivoted to make the best out of reduced foot fall is Dirty Martini. They have been one of the many hospitality businesses that have offered a takeaway/delivery options, and have recently extended that to online cocktail classes for their ‘summer staycay’ live masterclasses. In this case they have added value to their target market and have gone a step beyond the standard offer.
In addition to companies evolving and pivoting, some have been making their brand known by being visible in the best way possible. By supporting our NHS. Leon, Just Eat, Deliveroo, Brewgooder, Mindful Chef and Tom Kerridge have all been supporting our frontline workers by offering discounts and platforms for their users to donate. Obviously, I am biased and I think that CORE is a great company, but we have of course felt the impact of COVID as much as anyone. That said all of our team have been working throughout and we have shifted to providing weekly webinars, and having frank conversations with our clients and candidates. We have been future proofing our business by being present, and now that things are shifting, we are reaping the benefits by bringing in vacancies worldwide and continuing to place people in new roles.
