Giulia Spirito

I've been working in the hospitality industry for over a decade and my passion for great coffee, people and amazing food has always driven me forward. I started off as a barista for different specialty coffee brands and worked my way up to a manager position. 

Coffee is definitely my biggest passion and working in the industry has been such a wonderful experience. After a few years in the coffee industry, I decided to take my skillset to the contract catering sector. I eventually landed an operational role at the Business Design Centre in Angel, which was a major turning point for me. It made me realise how much I enjoy operations and how well I can handle pressure. Dealing with so many conferences and exhibitions of varying sizes and character was the best training I could ask for. 

 

So why did I choose recruitment? Well, I've always been interested in the sector, having conducted interviews and onboarded new starters during past experiences. I have a great problem-solving attitude and I'm also a people person, so applying for the Talent Scout role at Core seemed like the perfect fit. 

I believe that these qualities are key in building good relationships, whether with a candidate or a client, and I'm excited to see where they take me next!

What do you enjoy the most?

Coffee – It’s an addiction LOL. Any single origin from Central America is my go-to. Wine – Red, Full bodied, Dry

What did you want to be when you were younger?

I went through different phases.. but I would say Astronaut.

What do you do when you're not at work?

Solo Backpacking – I love to travel to random destinations and get lost there with some strangers. Techno Music – I have a strong connection with Berlin’s Techno scene, so I visit my friends there regularly. Road Cycling – I love to ride through Richmond Park. Absolutely my favorite route!
