Workforce development is a group of strategies (postsecondary education, skills training, apprenticeships, courses…) designed for the purpose of increasing employees' skill level, develop their ability to achieve more in the workplace, retain talent and meet the organisation's goals.
When done right, these two key functions have been known to improve workplace culture, bridge skills gaps and increase employee retention rates.
