A prestigious, commercially focused events and conferencing organisation in Central London is seeking an experienced Finance Director to join its Executive Leadership Team.

This is a high-profile strategic leadership role offering the opportunity to shape organisational direction, drive financial performance, and influence key business decisions within a complex and dynamic environment.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, the Finance Director will lead the organisation's financial strategy, planning, governance, risk management and commercial performance. As a key member of the leadership team, you will play a central role in delivering long-term growth, transformation initiatives and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of business and financial strategy.
  • Partner with the CEO and Board to deliver corporate and business plans.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and performance reporting.
  • Lead the preparation of annual accounts, management accounts and statutory reporting.
  • Drive commercial decision-making through insightful financial analysis.
  • Maintain robust governance, risk management and internal control frameworks.
  • Present to Boards, Audit & Risk Committees and senior stakeholders.
  • Manage relationships with auditors, government bodies and external partners.
  • Oversee cash flow, taxation, payroll governance, fixed assets and credit control.
  • Support organisation-wide transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead, develop and inspire a high-performing finance team.

Candidate Profile

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
  • Significant senior finance leadership experience, ideally at Finance Director, CFO or equivalent level.
  • Strong strategic planning, commercial acumen and business partnering capability.
  • Expertise in financial governance, controls, risk management and compliance.
  • Proven experience leading and developing successful finance teams.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively at Board and Executive level.
  • Resilient, proactive and solutions-focused approach.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience within events, hospitality, venues, leisure or other customer-facing commercial environments.
  • Exposure to public sector, government or regulated organisations.
  • Knowledge of procurement and major contract tendering processes.
