A prestigious, commercially focused events and conferencing organisation in Central London is seeking an experienced Finance Director to join its Executive Leadership Team.
This is a high-profile strategic leadership role offering the opportunity to shape organisational direction, drive financial performance, and influence key business decisions within a complex and dynamic environment.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, the Finance Director will lead the organisation's financial strategy, planning, governance, risk management and commercial performance. As a key member of the leadership team, you will play a central role in delivering long-term growth, transformation initiatives and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of business and financial strategy.
- Partner with the CEO and Board to deliver corporate and business plans.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and performance reporting.
- Lead the preparation of annual accounts, management accounts and statutory reporting.
- Drive commercial decision-making through insightful financial analysis.
- Maintain robust governance, risk management and internal control frameworks.
- Present to Boards, Audit & Risk Committees and senior stakeholders.
- Manage relationships with auditors, government bodies and external partners.
- Oversee cash flow, taxation, payroll governance, fixed assets and credit control.
- Support organisation-wide transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead, develop and inspire a high-performing finance team.
Candidate Profile
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
- Significant senior finance leadership experience, ideally at Finance Director, CFO or equivalent level.
- Strong strategic planning, commercial acumen and business partnering capability.
- Expertise in financial governance, controls, risk management and compliance.
- Proven experience leading and developing successful finance teams.
- Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to operate effectively at Board and Executive level.
- Resilient, proactive and solutions-focused approach.
Desirable Experience
- Experience within events, hospitality, venues, leisure or other customer-facing commercial environments.
- Exposure to public sector, government or regulated organisations.
- Knowledge of procurement and major contract tendering processes.
