What is your role at Orange Brands Management? 

I am the Co-Chief Executive Officer

Why is International Women’s Day so important? 

I think it’s a day that shines light on strong women everywhere that have made an impact in their field.  As a result, many young girls may consider a career in a field they would not have necessarily considered before.  It’s a day that builds role models. 😊

Looking at your career, what are you most proud of?   

Well, although I am very proud to have earned the title of Co-CEO last year, I am most proud of the journey to get me here. I feel that throughout my journey, I never compromised who I was to fit into what is still a very male dominant world (Hospitality Industry).  But I can also say that throughout my career, I was fortunate enough to work alongside people who always based my work performance on my work ethic and hard work, and never on my gender. I am grateful that dedication hard work prevailed!

How would you advise young women leaders on how to build confidence in their ability as a manager and leader?

My advice to young women is to walk tall, speak loudly and with confidence and conviction on your thoughts and ideas. 

Be assertive, and even when you are the only female in a room full of men, remember that you are in that room because YOU worked just as hard (if not harder!) to get there.

Which powerful woman do you admire the most?

I was fortunate to be raised by strong women whom I respect and admire.  My grandmother, my mother and Danielle Billera (one of the Founders and Directors of the company and my first boss at 22 years old) are three incredibly smart, fierce women who I can easily give a lot of credit to, for helping shape the woman I am in my role today.
